Experience
A scientist by training, Stephanie
worked for five years in the laboratory (Johns
Hopkins School of Medicine, Antex Biologics and
Osiris Therapeutics), engaged in virology and stem
cell research. She started her recruiting career
as account manager for Lab Support a division of
On Assignment, Inc. and after three years with the company
Stephanie was promoted to Vice President of
Operations, responsible for hiring,
operations, performance management, business
development and customer service for one third of
the US business, including 21 major markets in the
Southeast, Mid-Atlantic and Central regions.
Following five years in the staffing industry,
Stephanie moved to the client side of the
business, becoming the Manager for Staffing and
Relocation for Guilford Pharmaceuticals where she
took full circle responsibility for staffing and
hiring. At Guilford she accomplished
reductions in recruiting costs by one third per
hire, while averaging 25 hires per quarter across
all levels and disciplines. She modernized the
company's attitude toward compensation
planning and improved the process for applicant
tracking, resume review and posting of job
openings by implementing an automated applicant
tracking system that reduced applicant processing time
four-fold. Stephanie departed Guilford in
April of 2005, three months prior to a
corporate buyout resulting in Guilford's
acquisition by MGI Pharma.
